Description

TIME PERIOD

Depression Era, circa late 1930s to early 1940s

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

This is a matched set of six vintage pink Depression glass handled bowls, featuring vertically ribbed sides, a softly scalloped rim, and a classic radiating starburst base—hallmark design elements of American Depression-era glassmaking.

Each bowl displays a delicate blush-pink hue that is evenly saturated throughout the glass, with excellent light transmission that accentuates the ribbed body and molded starburst base. The integrated handles are smoothly formed and well balanced, offering both functional use and visual appeal.

The bowls are unmarked, which is consistent with many Depression-era production runs. Based on form, color, and molding style, these pieces are attributed to Anchor Hocking, though no factory mark is present. Attribution reflects widely accepted collector consensus rather than a definitive manufacturer’s stamp.

Originally produced as affordable household glassware during the Great Depression, pieces like these were designed for everyday use while still offering decorative charm. Today, they are sought after for their historical significance, classic design, and versatility for both display and serving.

An excellent addition to a Depression glass collection or a refined vintage table setting.
